Great news for cruise ship packages, vacationers, and the Florida tourism industry! Starting in October of 2011, this extraordinary ship will be setting sail from the port of Tampa, Fl to provide 7-night adventures to the Western Caribbean.
With 27 scheduled cruise trips and a capacity for over 2200 travelers, Norwegian Cruise Lines should be bringing another 60,000 visitors to the Tampa Bay area each year.
This elegant vessel will be the largest of the cruise ships sailing from Tampa and is expected to bring a great deal of traffic to all of the shops, restaurants, and cultural venues in and around the area.
Besides the convenience of the Port of Tampa’s proximity to the Tampa International Airport, there is a multitude of things for visitors to do either before or after the ship departs. The expectations are that vacationers will take advantage of the performing arts center and the Channelside area and the wide range of hotels from budget to luxury.
The Port of Tampa is a well run machine and all of the road improvements and expansions in the Tampa area will favorably accommodate this increase. The county of Hillsborough should also see additional job opportunities. Cruise Planners welcomes the Norwegian Star!
